Explosive Detection Dogs (EDD) and Termite Detection

Blue Ribbon can train EDD’s to suit your needs, whether that be on lead or off lead work, we can train food, retrieval or tug-of-war as a reward. Our dogs are trained and supervised by an ACPO qualified trainer (United Kingdom Association of Chief Police Officers) to the highest standards.

Our trainer and handlers have over 14 years military experience and have served with the military on operations in the Asia Pacific region, United Kingdom, Germany and Bosnia. At Blue Ribbon we only train our dogs on live explosives, we do not use pseudos, these dogs can also detect weapons and ammunition.

Breeds:

Blue Ribbon Specialised Services use a variety of breeds including but not limited to;

• Labradors,
• German Shepherds,
• Border Collies,
• Kelpies,
• German Short Haired Pointers, and
• X breeds.
All dogs are put through a two week trail period where they undergo retrieval and environmental testing to asses their suitability as a Detection Dog.

• Luggage,

• Vehicles including Planes, Boats and Vehicle Check Points,
• Roads and Tracks, and
• Outdoor Areas including Park Lands.

Our trainers and handlers have a great wealth of knowledge and experience which only comes from time in the job and not by simply doing a course, near enough is not good enough in our eyes.
